Stutter Step by Def 3

June 2nd, 2009

Our local hip hop artist Def 3 premiered his Stutter Step video on Much Music just a little while ago. He has been featured on a couple of our favorite videos including Joytron’s “Alpha.” It’s always good to see solid Canadian talent coming up from the underground.

Mark McMorris on The Source Team

April 25th, 2009

Mark has been killing it the last little while. He has been traveling across Canada and the States and hitting the gnarliest of jumps with the gnarliest of pros. So when The Source asked him to be on their team we weren’t surprised. Congratulations to our boy Mark, you’re one small dude with some big dreams!

A Part of Our Heritage

April 23rd, 2009

This vid is super rad. Takes you back. I remember my first board…I had to bring a drill to the hill in case I ripped my bindings out of my board. Thanks for nuulifecinema.com for bringing it to our attention.

Jibfest Results

March 30th, 2009

Saskatchewan’s largest contest, Jibfest, went down this past weekend at Mission Ridge. Perfect weather, great set-up and good times made this years Jibfest the best yet… not to mention Class Five was represented very well.

I managed to snap this photo at the riders meeting before the contest started. See if you can count all the Class Five boards that are in just this photo. It is always a nice feeling to see people stoked on our boards and putting them to good use.

Class Five team riders Mark and Craig McMorris both competed in the competition and did not disappoint. Here Mark is midway through a front 270 to board on the box.

And here Craig is stoked just after landing his hard-way 270 to board on the rail.

At the end of the day both Mark and Craig ended up on the podium. Craig took 2nd in the rail jam and Mark took 3rd. For the big air both Mark and Craig rode well, but it was Mark’s clean back 7 that got him 3rd place. Class Five could not be prouder of both Mark and Craig for their amazing riding and great attitudes. Here are the brothers getting their prizes for the rail jam.

Craig Likes Jibfest… and Hamburgers

March 27th, 2009

Tomorrow is Jibfest at Mission Ridge… so today team riders Craig and Mark McMorris as well as myself got a chance to test out the course. The setup is definitely the most legit thing that has gone down in the province: a nice table with rail setup below.

Here is a shot of Craig testing the jump and showing that front 7’s can go down at Mission Ridge.

And here Craig shows that hamburgers can also go down at Mission Ridge.

Tomorrow should be a great day. Looks like we are going to have great weather and a great course set up. Looking forward to it.

Jibfest

March 26th, 2009

If you’re in Saskatchewan this weekend you have to come check out the province’s largest contest: Jibfest. This is an annual event put on by the folks at Off Axis. We are stoked to have Class Five team riders Mark and Craig McMorris competing.

This year’s event is featuring both a rail jam and a big air. The contest is being held at Mission Ridge, about 45 minutes from Regina. Hope to see you all there.

Mark McMorris rides in the Finals of the US Open

March 23rd, 2009

Wow! That is pretty much all I can say at this point. Class Five team rider Mark McMorris has done something this week that very few people have been able to accomplish. He rode his way through every level of qualifiying to make it all the way to the finals of the US Open at Stratton, Vermont yesterday.

The US Open can easliy be described as one of the biggest contests in snowboarding. It has an increadable history dating back to the early days of the sport. Many of the worlds biggest riders have made their names competeing in the US Open.

Mark did an amazing job in the finals and when the day came to a close he finished in 14th place. This is an amazing finish for 15 year old Mark, given both his age and the fact that this is his first time competing in the Open.

Congratulations Mark! We couldn’t be more stoked!
