With a lot of hype out there on what makes a good snowboard, we’re going to keep things simple…

1. Solid construction. All snowboards contain the same basic components: wood cores, fiberglass, edges, bases and topsheets. These are layered like a sandwich and held together with epoxy (industrial glue). But the exact strength, weight and order of these materials can make the difference between a good ride and a great ride.
NEW this year, Class Five is introducing the Super Pop Top to all of our 2010/2011 boards. The new construction gives our boards more strength and resilience, giving you more pop when you’re riding, and delivering the ultimate freestyle performance. The Super Pop Top uses a 26 ounce triax fiberglass on the top of the board to provide strength, a carbon stringer (carbon rod) down the middle of the board to provide extra resilience and rebound, and a lighter 19 ounce fiberglass on the bottom of the board to keep the board lightweight and flexible. The new Super Pop Top delivers one of the best rides around.
2. Extended warranty. You know you’re going to push your board to the limit, so make sure you buy a board with a warranty that matches your riding. We know our snowboards will stand up to the punishment. Class Five is one of the few snowboard companies to offer a 2-Year Warranty against regular wear and tear.
3. Canadian made. Class Five is quite likely the only Canadian-made snowboard in your local board shop and one of only a few companies that build snowboards in Canada. Take a look online and talk to your shops. Know what you’re riding and where your board is produced. All of our boards are handmade with love in Canada.
All these features are available on our complete line of amazing boards: classfivesnowboards.com/snowboards.php

When I tell people about Class Five Snowboards one of the first questions I’m often asked is: “How did you get into buildings snowboards?” One thing that really stands out to me when I’m asked this question is that I couldn’t have done it without my friends…

Class Five Snowboards started as an idea kicked back and forth between myself, Justin Swedberg and our close group of friends when we lived, worked and rode in the BC interior. Back then we talked a lot about owning a company in the snowboarding business one day. We called ourselves the Class Five Crew (side note: Justin has credit for coming up with the name).
Years later, the energy from the those original conversations gave me the drive to start building snowboards. And when I needed support, it was this same crew that stepped in. They were my graphic designers, my technical support, my customers and even my landlord (my shop was in a friend’s garage). It was their feedback and belief that allowed the dream of Class Five to grow.
As Class Five grew so did the number of friends that became part of the Class Five Crew. We started selling more snowboards, getting more feedback, doing more testing, all with the help of the ever expanding Class Five Crew.
Today, Justin and I are no longer building boards in a garage, and our circle of friends has grown. The role of this crew has grown considerably and is more important than ever. As we’ve moved forward our crew has expanded to include our team riders, our shops, our customers, and many others — all of whom we consider friends.
If you’re reading this, chances are that we already consider you part of the Class Five Crew. So how can you become more involved, and lend a hand in shaping the future? This season we’ll be asking our Facebook Crew for their input on products and even the chance to design and win one of next year’s boards. Join here: www.facebook.com/classfivesnowboards
As always, thanks to everyone who’s part of our Crew. We’ve always gotten by with a little help from our friends… and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
