Rail Wars at Asessippi was a great time. The hill and Xtreme Adrenaline did a great job of putting on the contest and it looked like everyone involved really enjoyed themselves.
For us, the day started with the crew piling into the van in the early morning to make the trek out to Asessippi. Luckliy we had a dvd player and Shrek 2 to keep us occupied for the long drive.

Craig, Mark, Kurtis and Stuffed Animal in the van for the drive up. (Plus a glimpse of an 10.11 Class Five graphic).
The contest was a pretty decent setup with a host of riders from around the area taking part. Being called Rail Wars, the setup was your choice of a down-rail or flat-box, and a then a barrel jib.
Some of the highlights were: (1) all three of the Class Five riders at the event making it to the finals, (2) Mark showing Kurtis how to tie his bib around is leg, (3) Kurtis missing the finals because he was doing park laps trying to figure out what tricks he should do for the finals (nice work Kurtis); and (4) Mark and Craig taking first and second place respectively.
A fun event that promises to be even better next year. Thanks for the great time everyone!
After a week of blue bird days the finals for the Canadian Open in Calgary were fogged out. Even though the weather wasn’t the best some pretty insane riding went down. Class Five rider Mark McMorris rode well in the finals but unfortunately had a fall in his run that held him back from scoring higher. Mark finished in 9th place.
Here a few photos of Mark and Craig McMorris from the week leading up to the event.
Thanks to Mitch Crowshaw for snapping the last three photos.
Here are a couple fun photos from a trip to Whistler with Craig McMorris. Thanks to John from Nuulife for letting us crash his place! Craig eats his lucky charms and then shreds like a master. You can scope Craig on this jump in NuuLife’s Sixes and Sevens.
Class Five team riders Mark and Craig McMorris are in Mont Tremblant, Quebec competing in the Canadian Snowboard Federation Nationals. They will be throwing down in the halfpipe event tomorrow representing Class Five. We’ll post up the results as soon as we know how they did.
Saskatchewan’s largest contest, Jibfest, went down this past weekend at Mission Ridge. Perfect weather, great set-up and good times made this years Jibfest the best yet… not to mention Class Five was represented very well.
I managed to snap this photo at the riders meeting before the contest started. See if you can count all the Class Five boards that are in just this photo. It is always a nice feeling to see people stoked on our boards and putting them to good use.
Class Five team riders Mark and Craig McMorris both competed in the competition and did not disappoint. Here Mark is midway through a front 270 to board on the box.
And here Craig is stoked just after landing his hard-way 270 to board on the rail.
At the end of the day both Mark and Craig ended up on the podium. Craig took 2nd in the rail jam and Mark took 3rd. For the big air both Mark and Craig rode well, but it was Mark’s clean back 7 that got him 3rd place. Class Five could not be prouder of both Mark and Craig for their amazing riding and great attitudes. Here are the brothers getting their prizes for the rail jam.
Tomorrow is Jibfest at Mission Ridge… so today team riders Craig and Mark McMorris as well as myself got a chance to test out the course. The setup is definitely the most legit thing that has gone down in the province: a nice table with rail setup below.
Here is a shot of Craig testing the jump and showing that front 7’s can go down at Mission Ridge.
And here Craig shows that hamburgers can also go down at Mission Ridge.
Tomorrow should be a great day. Looks like we are going to have great weather and a great course set up. Looking forward to it.
If you’re in Saskatchewan this weekend you have to come check out the province’s largest contest: Jibfest. This is an annual event put on by the folks at Off Axis. We are stoked to have Class Five team riders Mark and Craig McMorris competing.
This year’s event is featuring both a rail jam and a big air. The contest is being held at Mission Ridge, about 45 minutes from Regina. Hope to see you all there.
Mark and Craig need to ride everyday. That is why they built a rail setup in their backyard. When they are sitting at home and feel that urge to try a new trick or just slay something they can step out into their backyard and let loose. This vid was put together by none other than Adam Burwell of famed wakeboarding status. His filming skills are damn good too!

On Sunday Jan. 18th Class Five team riders, Mark and Craig McMorris, competed in the Eh Games at Canada Olympic Park (COP) in Calgary, AB. The brothers both road hard with impressive tricks being thrown down. Clean and stylish are probably the best words to describe their runs through the large triple jump line at COP. Big props to Craig for such impressive riding, all with a broken arm.
At the end of the day, when the smoke cleared, it was Mark McMorris on top. The young rider took home First Place for the 15 and Under category as well as Third Place in the 16 and Over. When you throw down like Mark did on Sunday they have to give you two awards.
Again, congratulations to both Mark and Craig for such impressive riding. Nice work guys.
